Comair is a South African based airline offering domestic and international routes as a British Airways franchise. Comair routes began in 1943 as a charter company before commencing scheduled services. Its home base is Johannesburg, OR Tambo International Airport.
In 2010 British Airways merged with Iberia and resulted in the formation of IAG (International Airlines Group), who is also the parent company of Aer Lingus, Iberia, Vueling and Level.
British Airways owns the franchises of Comair but also has another franchise agreement with Scandinavia's Sun Air. British Airways also owns the subsidiaries of BA CityFlyer and Openskies.
